Movement Medicine®

Movement Medicine® Workshop

guided by Carrie Zaza Branovan

Sunday July 24th

6:30pm-8:30pm

Have you recognized your body is a reliable divination tool? Sometimes we consult angel cards, Rune stones, Tarot— and often forget that your body is constantly giving you valuable guidance toward how to move towards your life highest purpose. Movement is an excellent way to tune into the triple intelligence of your body, heart and imagination. Through the rhythm of curated music and guidance during this workshop you will explore the natural world inside and outside of your being: Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Ether— learning to listen and follow your “interocepton”.

This can be a dynamic dance or a slow-moving meditation (and often both)— which will ground you in the present moment and the joy of movement. Guided by Apprentice Movement Medicine® Teacher, Carrie Zaza Branovan, trained by co-founders Susannah and Ya’Acov Darling Khan in England, this is the first workshop offered in Milwaukee.

No experience necessary, all physical conditions, genders, ages, (16+) and cultural backgrounds warmly welcome. Please wear comfortable layered clothing that you can move in. Please bring water, something that represents the natural world, and an open mind Space is limited so register early!

Cost: $25

Now is the time to strengthen ourselves like never before, to be strong so we can help others. Now is the time to share love. Kundalini yoga is the transformational yoga of awareness, a meditative yet powerfully energizing yoga which balances the many energies of the body and opens you up to the infinite potential of your true self via crown chakra spiritual connection. Kundalini yoga balances and strengthens all body systems, especially the nervous and endocrine systems, while regulating the metabolism and enhancing your natural radiance and confidence. For the equinox we will practice some kundalini yoga for detox clarity and renewal to bring in new spring energy and let go of the past with some kriyas, meditations, mantras, and Venus gong healing savasana. We will plant a seed of consciousness with a bij mantra and Ram will play some beautiful music for you on her harmonium, dulcimer and drums. Please come to this kundalini "party" with your for a boost of energy which will nourish every facet of your life. This class is perfect for beginners as well as advanced yogis and will be a great introduction to kundalini yoga if you have not experienced it before!

Rosie Rain Ram Ram has been practicing yoga for 25 years and teaching for 15. Introduced to kundalini yoga as a healing modality recommended by her healing teacher in 2004, Ram has been studying kundalini yoga ever since. Wednesday, October 13th 6-7:30 pm VIRTUAL
Saturday October 16th in person 12-6:30 pm
Sunday, October 17th in person 12-6:30 pm

What Is Thai Body Work:
Thai Yoga Bodywork combines elements of massage, yoga, and acupressure. It works to clear blockages in the body by applying a healing touch to the affected pressure points. The technique of massage and stretching releases tension in the limbs and muscles promoting relief from pain and improvement in flexibility. Once these blockages are removed, energy will flow freely in the body. Energy that flows freely will improve ailments and increase overall physical and mental health.

What Will You Be Able to Offer Your Clients/Students:
You can apply Thai massage techniques throughout your regular yoga or bodywork session, or offer
a stand-alone hour long Thai massage session. The massage is practiced on a shiatsu mattress on
the floor or on a massage table. The massage involves the use of hands, elbows and feet. A number
of techniques such as applying pressure on the muscles, pulling fingers and toes, and stretching are
used to free the blockages in the body. At the end of the massage session your clients will feel relaxed, energized and balanced.
